Gianfranco Ferré was a fashion designer also known as “the architect of fashion” stemming from his architectural roots and his original attitude towards design.
Ferré began his fashion career in 1970 by designing accessories, then working as a raincoat designer. He moved on to launch his signature collection for women in 1978. Ferré became Stylistic Director of Christian Dior, Paris in 1989.
His own label is more relaxed and pared-down than Dior. Sophisticated white shirts have become the symbol of his personal signature in fashion design.
Gianfranco Ferré’s designs draw unfailing and inexhaustible inspiration from art and the most significant pictorial experiences of every era. Elegant. Evocative. Exquisite.
